US Vice President JD Vance has reportedly expressed concerns regarding the Pentagon’s assessment of the Iran war, questioning the Defence Department’s claims regarding its missile stockpiles.

According to a report by The Atlantic, Vance has repeatedly asked, in closed-door meetings, whether the Pentagon is feeding half-truths to the US President about the war situation.

Citing two senior Trump administration officials, the report claimed that Vance has questioned the accuracy of the information provided by the US Defence Department.

The US Vice President is also believed to have expressed concerns about the reported shortage of certain missile systems during his conversations with Trump.

Both US Secretary of Defence, Pete Hegseth, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine, have publicly claimed that the US weapons stockpiles remain robust despite eight weeks of fighting with Iran.

Citing advisers to the US Vice President, the report, however, stated that the concerns Vance expressed are his own and he didn’t accuse Hegseth or Caine of misleading President Trump.

Since day one of the Iran war, the United States has been claiming that it has destroyed the Iranian military, but the Islamic Republic has still managed to keep the war going for more than a month.

Iran has shot down US warplanes, managed to attack neighbouring countries housing US assets and enforce a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.

Even after the ceasefire, Iran is not willing to relent under US pressure and has been maintaining its firm stance on negotiations.
